Project 2020-2022

2021 – an educational and methodological kit for the elective course for students of 3-4 grades “Climate Alphabet” (program, methodological recommendations and lesson plans, notebook) was created. The author is I. Sankovska.
This is the first course in Ukraine and the first in the educational sphere of the primary level of the NUS for primary school to study climate change. With its help, we want the course participants to understand the need to preserve global balance, the personal involvement of everyone in environmental issues and climate change in particular. The created teaching materials and recommendations are a hope that the introduction of the climate component in modern education can change the attitude of students and their families towards the environment.

2022 – a teaching and methodological kit for the elective course for students of general secondary schools in grades 5-6 “Climate Box” (program, methodological recommendations and lesson plans, notebook) was created. Authors – Sankovska I.M., Prutsakova O.L.
The course introduces and immerses students in grades 5-6 in topics on climate history, natural and anthropogenic causes of climate change. It tells about heat waves, loss of water, spontaneity of atmospheric phenomena, cataclysms and adaptation of urban villages to them. Traces the relationship between the melting of polar ice and glaciers and the rise in sea levels. Emphasizes the phenomenon of migration of plants and animals, the aggressive attack of invasive species on local (native) species. Draws attention to the most relevant topic of climate migrants. It provides a thorough introduction to the consequences of climate change in Ukraine.
Wanting to avoid excessive scholarship, we supplement the above theory with tasks in the activity book that are understandable for younger teenagers, thoughtful experiments and practical exercises, project activities, a focus on search and research, and improving media literacy skills.

2020-2022 A two-year series of 24 thematic quizzes on environmental dates of the month with a drawing of books with environmental content. The quiz was preceded by the publication of information about 3-5 environmental dates on the Facebook page of the Green Wave NGO during the month, and a book of the corresponding direction was selected for one of the environmental dates. Author – Sankovska I.M.

Project 2022-2023.
2023 – creation of an educational publication “My First Climate Dictionary” for all those interested in climate change. Authors – Sankovska I.M., Prutsakova O.L.
The publication “My First Climate Dictionary” covers more than 260 basic terms and concepts in climatology, related areas of modern ecology and climate change. The publication also includes terms related to the impact of the armed conflict in Ukraine on the environment and climate change as a result of active hostilities.
The glossary can be used by pupils and students who receive basic knowledge about the natural and anthropogenic causes of climate change, receive climate or meteorological education, and can assess the consequences and extent of human impact on nature.

2023 – creation of a career guidance publication “My Guide to the World of Climate Professions” for all those interested in climate change. Author – Sankovska I.M.
The material of the guide is rich in information on professional information and career guidance. It is structured in 3 sections, which are dedicated to
– professions telling about the climate of the past,
– climate professions of the present,
– climate professions of the future.
The publication can be useful for pupils and students who will learn about the natural and anthropogenic causes of climate change, learn about the specifics of professions that “work” with the climate today and can recreate its past “faces,” assess the consequences and scale of human impact on nature, and gain knowledge about climate and ways to adjust their own activities in direct and indirect interaction with nature.

2023 – creation of a media literacy publication “How to find and consume information on climate change” for all those interested in working with reliable information and searching for primary sources on climate change. Author – Sankovska I.M.
