Assessment of tree ecosystem services for community adaptation to climate change: start of the iTree4UA project

The project iTree4UA runs from September 2021 to December 2022, aiming to enable a full functionality build-out of i-Tree toolbox as an interactive, participatory, and transparent inventory system for green zones (namely areas covered by trees) both in rural and in urban areas in Ukraine for the benefits of local communities and environment under climate change threats.

On September 30, the starting project webinar “Transparent and participatory inventory system of green areas in Ukraine: iTree4UA” took place in order to engage data owners and local activists to the project realization.

Participants from all over Ukraine: potential project stakeholders and partners (authorities, data owners, individual activists, NGOs at all levels in Ukraine) learned more about the project goals,  timeline, planned activities, needs, and possibilities of i-Tree tools. 70 registered participants, more than an hour of communication and 25 questions resulted in the meeting!

The materials of the webinar can be downloaded at this link. We also made a short video recording of the meeting, can be viewed at the link.
