We invite you to take a walk along the eco-trails created in Irpin as part of the project “Irpin’s Giant Oaks: An Eco-Route of Living Legends,” supported by the “Zelenyi Val” space.
The project was initiated by Nataliia Vasylenko and the “Eco Irpin” community initiative, with the support of the NGO “Ukrainian Ecological Club ‘Green Wave’,” writer, artist, and director of the “Kotyhoroshko” school Tasha Torba, students of the Irpin Academic Lyceum of NUBiP and local schools, and active residents.
The goal of these trails is to draw the attention of Irpin residents and guests to the city’s green relics, raise awareness, and encourage the preservation of ancient oaks.
The First Oak Trail passes through part of the city and three parks. It introduces visitors to ancient oaks and the history of Irpin. Each tree has its own name, honoring a prominent Ukrainian who lived in the city.
The Second Oak Trail is located in “Dubky” Park and is primarily designed for primary school students. Children have created fairy tales and drawings for each oak, while Tasha Torba has prepared coloring pages based on these stories. Every visitor can listen to audio tales narrated by students and download the coloring sheets.
Near each oak, you will find an information board featuring:
Details about a prominent Irpin resident.
Eco-services provided by the tree.
Interesting facts about oaks and the city’s history.
An interactive task.
For your convenience, each board includes the tree’s geolocation and a link to the route on Google Maps.
We wish you an enjoyable walk along the Oak Trails of Irpin!
