\nUrban trees and parks are not just decorations or street ornaments. They are a vital part of Kyiv’s infrastructure that works for us every single day: purifying the air, sequestering carbon, saving us from the heat in their shade, reducing noise levels, and providing many other ecosystem services.
\n During the forum, participants presented the results of field research conducted by students of the Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU) on the territory of the Fomin Botanical Garden. Using the i-Tree Eco software, they clearly demonstrated the practical value of green spaces for every Kyiv resident.
\n Our team, NGO \u201cUkrainian Ecological Club \u2018Green Wave\u2019\u00a0, was honored to join the event! We shared the history of implementing this innovative software product in Ukraine, which we have been systematically working on since 2018. But our greatest pride lies in the real results! We presented inspiring success stories of the graduates of our course “All-Ukrainian Academy i-Tree4UA”, who are already using these tools to protect the environment in communities across the country and abroad.
\n We sincerely thank our partners for this wonderful initiative and synergy! The project is implemented by the NGO “Stardub” in cooperation with Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the KNU Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology within the framework of the city competition “Partnership for Community Development,” organized by the Department of Public Communications of the Kyiv City State Administration (KMDA).
